Scrapbook, compiled by Chapman, pertaining to the Mary Brown Home in the Deering section of Portland, Me., a rest home for women recovering from a hospital stay or from exhaustion caused by their employment. This was founded in 1894 by Mrs. Mary Brown who purchased a house on Revere Street in 1895 which served as a residence until 1903 when a newer residence was built on Capisic Street. This was later renamed the Eunice Frye Home and was used as a residence and later as an assisted living facility until it closed in 2002.
